In this time where Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated content is a dime a dozen, authenticity and the beauty of human intricacy seem to be falling from grace. Most of the AI applications, after all, are available for free and are easily accessible over the internet.
The De La Salle Lipa Multi-Media Arts students-led MAD Summit 2024 aimed to yet again “humanize” the arts, talked about unconventional art forms and stressed the beauty of uniqueness and creativity. With the theme MMAlaya, the event held in DLSL Sentrum featured KosmikLia, Rai Cruz, Rogger Basco Rabu, Dasu, Tomatoface & Pasahero— all seasoned practitioners of various types of non-conventional arts.
This event is a call to artists to explore their own creativity. “…na hindi lang sila basta susunod, na kaya nilang gawin yu’ng mga gusto nila,” Herschel Jain said in an interview with WOWBatangas.com.
MAD Summit 2024 also highlighted a live graffiti art show, art exhibit, and personalized merch where attendees get to explore, interact and appreciate arts in relatively new platforms.
Aly Castillo, event attendee, aspiring wood artist and art student from FAITH Colleges, initially just wanted to attend Rai Cruz’ segment on wood art, but she ended up also enjoying other topics discussed in the event such as music and digital arts. “This event really helps aspiring artists to grow,” she noted.
