Why should you boodle fight on your next Summer Outing?

Yearly, WOWBatangas Team organizes a summer outing and of course, we always choose to visit a resort or beach within the vicinity of Batangas Province. This time our feet brought us to Brgy. Bubuyan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas where we are warmly welcomed by fruit-bearing trees, flowery garden, peace and serenity at a semi-private resort named Serenewoods Farm and Resort.

And what completes our yearly summer outing? Food! And we choose to do a boodle fight this year.

They say that Filipino Boodle Fight is maybe the only fight worth having. Boodle fight is the military way of eating in which food are piled on top of banana leaves laid out on long tables for everyone to enjoy. We will only be using our bare hands in order to eat. In case you’re wondering why we choose to boodle fight, here are the reasons why:

A simple boodle fight can build a good relationship.
As Batangueños, we usually bond through enjoying good food. It’s also proven to improve relationships. This is where we talk about life updates and also the best time to laugh and joke around. Boodle fight brings us closer together.

It’s eco-friendly.
Using single-use plastics is a big problem nowadays. Since on a boodle fight, we are using our tradition bilao as food containers; banana leaf as plates and our hands as spoon and fork. All these are reusable and biodegradable that why you are contributing to lessening the single-use plastics like plastic plates, plastic spoon, and forks.

It’s easy to prepare.
A boodle fight starter pack usually consists of fish, vegetables, meat and seafood which are either fried, boiled or smoked. Fresh fruits are also a must-have for boodle fights.

But if you’re busy with your daily work and don’t have enough time to prepare, there are restaurants around who can help you build your Boodle Fight Starter Pack!

Located in Ayala Highway, the food avenue of Lipa City, Ka Jec’s Bangihan is a grill restaurant who are not just known for serving sumptuous street foods but also for build-your-own boodle bundles.
