A Taste of Matcha Festival Showcases Matcha Culture and Young Entrepreneurs at The Outlets at LIMA Estate

A Taste of Matcha Festival at The Outlets at LIMA Estate brought wellness, culture, and local creativity together as Day 2 drew crowds eager to learn more about the popular green tea drink. Mallgoers joined interactive sessions on matcha history, proper whisking, and latte art, making the event both educational and experiential.

One of the featured entrepreneurs was Hanna Akira Perez, a 23-year-old matcha business owner.A regular matcha drinker, Perez shared that she began making matcha at home after finding store-bought options expensive. Interest grew when friends started ordering her homemade drinks at school, prompting her to turn her passion into a business.

Launched in November 2025, her brands Matcha and Hojica and Cozy Cha quickly gained support from fellow matcha lovers. Inspired by cafés, community, and her love for drink-making, Perez said she shifted from coffee to matcha because it provides a more balanced energy boost lasting three to four hours.

Perez said events like A Taste of Matcha Festival help small businesses gain visibility and connect with other matcha baristas. She expressed gratitude to The Outlets at LIMA Estate for organizing the event and creating opportunities for local brands.

A Taste of Matcha Festival runs until January 25, 2026, at The Outlets at LIMA Estate, featuring matcha pop-up stores and specialty blends from across CALABARZON.
