Lipa City Installs Symbolic Welcome Marker

The LGU-Lipa City pitched a symbolic welcome marker between President JP Laurel Highway and Gen. Luna Street in Barangay Sabang.

The sophisticated marker highlights the text, “Lungsod ng Lipa” written in Baybayin script, a golden crown that signifies Spanish Queen Regent Maria Cristina, a scaled-down replica of the San Sebastian Cathedral steeple, and the Taal crater. Just below it is the also recently established slogan of Lipa City Tourism— #EatPrayLoveLipa.

It can be noted that Lipa’s welcome marker has been evolving through the years. The current marker, more interestingly, now evokes the storied history and heritage of the Little Rome of Batangas.
