Balayan Comes Alive for the 2026 Parada ng Lechon Festival

Thousands of residents and visitors gathered in Balayan on June 24 to celebrate the town’s renowned Parada ng Lechon Festival in honor of St. John the Baptist.

The streets were filled with excitement as creatively decorated lechon were paraded through the town, showcasing the artistry and traditions of the local community. Participants dressed in colorful costumes joined the festivities, while spectators eagerly watched the procession.

One of the most anticipated parts of the celebration was the traditional basaan, where residents splashed water on one another as a symbol of joy and remembrance of St. John the Baptist. The activity transformed the town into a lively scene of laughter and camaraderie.
