It’s Governor Vi, once again.
Gov. Vilma Santos- Recto was proclaimed winner in the 2010 gubernatorial race yesterday, May 12, at the Batangas Capitol, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building.
The latest poll result reflected 561,485 votes in favor of Gov. Vi, while her strongest contender Edna Sanchez (wife of the late Batangas governor Armand Sanchez) got 369,210 votes. These votes were transmitted from three cities and 29 municipalities of the province.
COMELEC is still waiting for the final tally of votes from the towns of Balayan and Calaca where the partial unofficial tally gives 40,912 more votes for Gov. Vi and 21,470 for Edna Sanchez. Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto has so far, a total lead of 211,717 votes. The governor is now on her second term.
