ISLA VERDE: The Hidden Treasure

Knowing that we will be visiting Isla Verde made us all excited. We had a lot of guesses even before we get there like how beautiful the place is, how hospitable the people are and what will be the distinguished food in there that will make our mouth melts. But parallel to this is the nervous feeling brought to us by the fact that we will be riding a boat (maliit na bangkang de motor na tanging maliit na kawayan rin lang ang nagtitimbang). Our wild imagination led us to different what if’s (panu kung lumaki ang alon at tumaob ang bangka, panu kong malunod kami, panu kung… hindi!).
The fine weather welcomed us. The cool sea breeze enticed us to relax and pushed us to leave our worries and concerns before we aboard the boat. I hear Ate Mho saying, “Remember guys, we will be going to Isla Verde not just to experience fun and adventure but more specifically, is to free ourselves from the pressure of the city”. It took us 30 minutes ride before we finally stepped down to the white sand of Verde Island. This is it! This is really is it!
Isla Verde is one of the mostly visited places of Batangas. A tourist destination that doesn’t only offer relaxation but also gives one the chance to experience and explore its hidden beauty and history. Verde island as its name connotes is blessed by wide rainforests and wildlife. The residents of Isla considered the place as the treasure sent from above which must be kept and protected.
It became a privilege for us to visit and explore the place. Everything was a discovery. We have discovered the Pulong Bato which is located in the middle of the Verde Island Passage. Another thing is that, we had learned that Isla Verde is the first island which was reached by solar energy. This was proven true because some of the houses in there are still using it. In addition, we had also discovered that Pakaskas, one of the known products of Isla, is not made of sugar, instead it is cooked using only the natural juice taken from the “Buli Tree”. Lot more experiences happened that made our stay very memorable.
We really had a wonderful experience in Isla Verde. Our purpose of going there had been realized. We left that place with the hope of going back and with the smile in our face while saying we will miss you Isla Verde.
“The place is a perfect venue for family bonding, friends get together and for lovers who want to try something special and romantic. Maganda! Promise! Ang saya nga namin! So, if you want to feel what we felt. Punta na kayo sa Isla.”
