Faith and Devotion Shine at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish’s Sanlibong Rosas Para Kay Maria

TAYSAN, BATANGAS — On June 7, the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Dagatan, Taysan, Batangas came alive with vibrant faith and community spirit as it hosted the event “Sanlibong Rosas Para Kay Maria” with the theme “Isang Rosas. Isang Dasal. Isang Debosyong Buhay na Buhay.”

Offering flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary is a cherished Catholic tradition, especially observed during the month of May, dedicated to Mary. Though held in June, the celebration remained deeply rooted in this tradition, serving as a continuation of a faith practice passed down through generations.

The event was spearheaded by Rev. Fr. Antonio Umali and was attended by local parishioners who also joined the solemn evening procession. More than just a celebration, the gathering became a living testament to the enduring Marian devotion of the community.

Adding to the grace of the event was the beauty of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church itself—renowned for its open, airy design and seamless harmony with the natural surroundings. The church provided the perfect setting for reflection, prayer, and communal celebration.

Each rose offered symbolized not just a prayer, but a deep commitment to a living devotion—alive in faith, rooted in tradition, and blossoming in the heart of the Batangueño faithful.
