Dasmariñas, Cavite – Young innovators from Batangas State University Integrated School(BatStateU-IS) made the Red Spartan community proud after taking home top honors at the Pilipinas RoboSports Tournament (PRST) 2026 on January 31.
In a display of technical skill and creativity, Team SCOPE captured 1st place in the Agricultural andIndustrial Innovation category.
Their project, S.C.O.P.E (Safeguarding Construction Optimizing Pollutant Elimination), is a smart robotic system that improves safety at construction sites. Using AI programming, Arduino controllers, and 3D-printed parts, the robot autonomously clears obstacles,reduces slip hazards, and minimizes harmful cement dust-helping workers and surroundingcommunities alike.
Not far behind, Team SYLAX earned 2nd place in the Health and Wellness category with SYLAX(System for Youth Locomotor Assistance and Xploration). Their low-cost mobility device for children with cerebral palsy blends features of a wheelchair and exoskeleton, providing adaptive walking modes, user-responsive controls, and basic health monitoring-all built using accessible, locally available materials.
