Rotary International has been battling the existence of Polio, a disabling and life-threatening disease caused by the poliovirus, for 35 years now.
Their noble cause has already raised funds to protect 3 billion children in 122 countries against paralyzing diseases.
Last October 15, Rotary Lipa initiated a 3- and 5-kilometer fun run activity along Leviste Drive, Bulacnin, Lipa City. The event was attended by an estimated 200+ runners.
This activity is greatly helpful to third-world countries like the Philippines where not everyone could afford preventive vaccines.
It has been reported that the country has eradicated polio in 2000. The proceeds of this event will be forwarded to efforts to sustain a polio-free Philippines.
