Ana Valeriano of Bauan Tech wins national essay tilt

Ana E. Valeriano, a high school student from Bauan Technical School in Bauan, Batangas won first place in the national essay writing contest on interfaith dialogue.

Ana’s essay, “Interfaith Initiatives: What It Means to Me and to My Country,” bested 37 essays of high school students from all over the Philippines. The second place on the other hand was won by Reynaldo David of San Miguel National High School (Bulacan) while Karina Lei Relatado of Digos City national High School, Davao del Sur.

The said tilt is aimed at raising public awareness of the Philippines’ advocacy for peace and the promotion of an open dialogue among various faiths and religions.

The contest was sponsored by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Organizing Committee (NOC) of the Special Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation for Peace and Development (SNAMMM).

The winners received P20,000, P15,000 and P10,000 respectively plus medals and trophies for their schools.
