Cuenca, Batangas – The skies of Barangay Bungahan will soon be alive with color, creativity, and celebration as Cuenca proudly hosts the Cuenca Kite Festival 2025 on May 14, 2025, at Sitio Dela Paz, Barangay Bungahan.
A beloved local tradition, the Cuenca Kite Festival is a kite flying competition that brings together enthusiasts of all ages in a spirited display of artistry and flight. This year’s competition will feature four exciting categories:
Patayugan (Local Category) – For Cuenca residents, testing endurance in keeping kites airborne the longest.
Patayugan (Open / 3D Category) – Open to all, highlighting complex and three-dimensional kite designs.
Pagandahan (Traditional Category) – Judged on craftsmanship and adherence to traditional kite aesthetics.
Pagandahan (Open Category) – Open to all participants, focusing on beauty, creativity, and visual appeal.
Only registered entries will be allowed to fly during their assigned time slots. All entries will undergo a mandatory safety inspection prior to the competition. The use of glass, sharp objects, or any materials that may pose a danger to participants or spectators is strictly prohibited.
To complete registration, each participant must submit one (1) photocopy of a valid ID with three (3) signatures.
Winners in each category will receive cash prizes ranging from ₱2,000 to ₱5,000. Slots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so early registration is highly encouraged.
More than just a contest, the 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 invites families, friends, and visitors to lift their spirits high and let their colors fly.
With every kite that dances in the wind, we honor the strength of a united community and look ahead to a future shaped by harmony, inclusivity, and joy.
