In an amazing display of eloquence and values, senior high school students from all around the Schools Division of Lipa gathered yesterday at the National University- Lipa Campus for the much anticipated Oratorical Contest with the theme “Be honest even if others are not, even if others will not, even if others cannot,” organized by the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals- Lipa City Central Chapter.
The competition featured ten participants, each delivering original speeches about the importance of honesty in their personal lives as a student and as a youth.
Ms. Margareth Maralit, a student from the University of Batangas, took home the top prize with a rousing speech that banked on personal experiences and how simple acts of honesty can create rippling effects to the youth and the society.
The judges praised all the participants for their clarity, confidence and sincerity.
Meanwhile, BCBP Formation Head Bro. Gabriel Recio, in his parting message, noted that the written masterpieces of the contestants should not remain as contest materials— that their convictions must be “lived” and practiced in the contestants daily experiences.
In the event’s attendance were BCBP-Lipa members, SDO Lipa City SDS Dr. Felizardo Bolanos, NU SHS Principal Ms. Tiffanny Gail Nova , students, coaches and trainors.
