With a rich cultural heritage, Batangas is one of the most interesting provinces in the Philippines. From the abundance of marvelous natural resources to the productivity and genuine talent of its people, Batangas truly has a lot to be proud of.

In the celebration of SM Corporation’s 60th year, SM City Batangas and SM City Lipa joined forces in bringing the best of Batangas culture encompassing the elements which contribute to the greatness of the province.

My City, My SM celebrates the best of Batangas culture and arts, history, tourism industry, economy, and its people. Batangueños from different parts of the province gathered at SM City Batangas to witness this grand event.

With the Filipiniana theme, the mall entrance was transformed into a cultural venue showcasing popular products such as the balisong, the embroideries of Taal, and the popular dishes which originated from Batangas.

The photo exhibit courtesy of Batangas Province Camera Club (BPCC) added points of interest on the venue with their ingenious photographs.

An audio-visual presentation which presents the bests of Batangas -exhibiting the special and prominent features of various towns and cities of Batangas.

Notable personalities graced the event such as Vice Governor Mark Leviste, Atty. Antonio Pastor, Bb. Pilipinas International 2002 Kristine Alzar, Alex Maralit of Lipa City Tourism Council, Mayor Prudencio Gutierrez of Padre Garcia, and Councilor Concon Hernandez of Lipa City.

The event was made even more “Filipinized” with entertainment productions from Lyceum of Batangas Lahing Batangan Dance Troupe with their vibrant cultural dance and kundiman singer Alex Resurreccion with his endearing songs. The kundiman singer even sang an original composition of our National Hero Jose Rizal.

The highlight of this My City, My SM event was the unraveling of the two grand windows on both sides of the center screen. These windows disclose the surprise photo galleries for the My City, My SM endorsers of Batangas – Atty. Antonio Pastor for Batangas City and Ms. Kristine Alzar for Lipa City.

Kristine Alzar was serenaded by Alex Resurreccion while Atty. Pastor amazed the crowd as he plays his favorite Mozart piece on the piano. Batangas is definitely blessed to have such wonderful and talented people.
