Day 2: Lemery Beach Heats Up with Bangkang de Sagwan Race and Bikini Open

It was a sunny Friday morning as we woke up from a few hours of sleep (the Binibining Lemery Global 2012 pageant night ended past 1 AM) to witness the first Bangkang de Sagwan race set at 6 AM. The event started an hour late though.

Nineteen bangkeros participated in the contest. Each boat was run by two boatmen who raced from a distance of 250 meters away from the shore.

The event was divided into 4 batches and from there, the fastest teams competed in the final round. From batch 1 – Rogelio Mendoza and Reden Marasigan (Warrior 2); from batch 2 – Joseph Lapian and Mark Atienza (Warrior 1); from batch 3 – June and Oscar Barandino (Wawa Express); from batch 4 – Jerry and Michael Santiago (Wawa Express 1).

Nakakaloka ‘tong mga bangkerong ‘to.

Haha. Saka hindi naman daw yun swimming competition kung saan may linyang dapat sundin bawat swimmer. Think of a car race. Parehas din lang daw na legal yung pag-cut.

Kaya bago pa magkabukingan, here’s the result of the race:

1st – June and Oscar Barandino (Wawa Express)
2nd – Rogelio Mendoza and Reden Marasigan (Warrior 2)
3rd – Jerry and Michael Santiago (Wawa Express 1)
4th – Joseph Lapian and Mark Atienza (Warrior 1)

Day 2 of the celebration of the 150th Founding Anniversary of Lemery seemed to be a men’s day. It began with a bangkarera and was concluded with the Bikini Open and a beach party.

The Bikini Open featured FHM models but there were also some male models to please some girls and becky friends. Of course, the guys waited for the night’s special guest, Iwa Moto and Geoff Taylor.

Here are some photos from Day 2 of Lemery’s 150th Founding Anniversary celebration.

NOTE: We’re experiencing difficulty in uploading the pictures. Please visit the site later on to check more of the event photos. Or, jump to this link for the album upload. Patience is still a virtue friends. 🙂
