The First Asia Institute College of Nursing and Lima Park Hotel partner for the Community Fun Run dubbed as “Run for Wellness Year 2: Promoting Active and Healthy Living in the Community.” The event is scheduled on February 7, Sunday, 7 am at the Lima Technology Center in Malvar, Batangas.

About 1000 participants are expected to participate in this fun run organized by FAITH for the community. There will be three fun run categories: 3K, 5K and 10 K run.

TAYO ROBOT IN BATANGAS

Teachers-coaches and selected students of different public schools in Batangas trained on robotics by the World Robotics champion school, First Asia Insitute of Technology and Humanities as part of its Tanauan Youth Robotics (TAYO) program.

TaYo Robot is a collaborative program of FAITH, BatoBalani Foundation Inc. (BBFI), the City Government of Tanauan, and the Luz family. It aims to popularize Robotics among public school students and teachers to use Robotics to enhance various lessons in Science.

FAITH handled the training for the teachers and selected students. The schools that attended the training were Tinurik National High School, Luyos National High School, Bernardo Lirio Memorial National High School, Tanauan School of Fisheries, Banjo Laurel National High School and Malvar National High School.

Aside from competitions, there were also presentations featuring robots created by the students of FAITH and awarding of Robotics kits and certificate of completion to each participating schools.

The TaYo Robot trainers were Aj Dy, student of FAITH Unified School, a member of the Robotics Team, Mr. Kim Marco Perez, Engineering student at FAITH and also a team leader of the Robotics team that won the Gold medal in China in 2006 and the Director of the School of Technology, Mr. Joey Dy.
