ComSci, IT Students Celebrate FAITH’s First Cosplay Event

The College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) of First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities brought another first as they celebrate Anime I.T., Digital Perspectives Come Alive, August 26.

This is an annual celebration for CICT but it’s the first time that the fair included a grand cosplay competition. Everyone from the department showed their creativity and enthusiasm as they clad themselves with anime costumes. Our very own team member, Alva, was invited to be one of the judges for the competition. To our surprise, Alva showed off his own costume and went to the contest venue as Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Carribean! Swabeng swabe si Papa Alvs!

Team Fushigi Yuugi (I forgot their class section) emerged as the best cosplayers in the end. The Best in Anime Costume for the male category went to The Priest of Team Ragnarok and for the female category, the Best in Anime Costume award went to Card Captor Sakura of Team Sakura.

Despite some minor problems in the program itself, the event was a success especially if you would gauge it based on student participation. What the CICT faculty members and students have shown in this event is a manifestation of how they work together as a huge family to bring the out the best in each one.

Meanwhile, the WOWBatangas Team had the opportunity to take center stage as we were invited to talk about Website Development and Internet Marketing. Gerlie introduced the team and presented an overview of how WOWBatangas came into being. JR talked about the programming part and the initial and essential details of website development.

Alva had a brief presentation on website design, how to play around an image and use it for the desired lay-out. Lastly, I discussed about website content management, focusing more on written content. It ‘s always a nice experience being given the chance to share something you’re passionate about. And when you know it could be helpful to other people, your enthusiasm overflows.

To the faculty members and students of CICT,  especially to Ms. Grace and Ms. Alice, thank you very much for letting us be part of your department activities. Conratulations as well. Until next time!
