SM City Batangas Celebrated Grandparents Day

It was a family day in the mall last September 12 as SM City Batangas celebrate the Grandparents day.

Last September 12, the Filipino trade mark of keeping close family ties highlighted the grandparents day celebration at SM City Batangas. The event started with a thanksgiving mass attended by mall shoppers with their lolos and lolas and members of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and Federation of Senior Citizens Batangas Chapter with their families.

Love is in the air during that day as 10 pairs of Lolos and Lolas renewed their vows as witnessed not just by their children and apos but the shoppers of SM who admired watching them as they share their love in the cake cutting and wine toast part of the wedding ceremony and Ms. Eva Eugenio who took part in serenading our renewed weds.

The Lolos and Lolas also enjoyed fun and exciting activities such as raffles, games and ballroom dancing after the romantic renewal of vows.

Part of the activity also was a fair market showcasing products of Batangas participated by the Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) and some of the local Lolo and Lola entrepreneurs of Batangas.

Celebration of grandparents day is a way of SM to pay tribute to Lolo and Lola as the roof that completes the home.

Grandparents day at SM City Batangas was made possible in cooperation with Perfect Teeth, Clarin Optical, Quantum, Presnet, HBC, Amazing Touch, Dunkin Donuts, Dermclinic, Gerry’s Grill, Let’s Face It, Mc Donalds and Mang Inasal.

Medical and Dental Mission at SM City Batangas

Batangueños recently received free medical and dental services as SM Foundation hold its yearly Medical and Dental Mission Caravan at SM City Batangas last September 7 and 8, 2010.

This year’s medical mission was a two day activity allotting an extra day to give priority to the senior citizens of the community.

The beneficiaries patiently lined up and waited as early as 7:00 in the morning at the main entrance of the mall to avail of the free services that includes medical consultation, ECG, fasting blood sugar test, bone density scanning, x-ray and tooth extraction. Free medicines are also provided as prescribed by the doctors.

Beneficiaries are identified and chosen through the CSWD, PSWD and FILWAR Veterans. A total of 48 volunteer doctors and dentists from Provincial Health Office, Batangas Medical Society and different pharmaceutical companies participated in the said program that accommodated a total of close to 2,000 beneficiaries from the nearby communities of SM City Batangas.

Medical and Dental Mission Caravan: “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” is a project initiated by SM Foundation Incorporated in cooperation with SM City Batangas, DSWD, PSWD Provincial Health Office, Philippine National Red Cross, FILWAR Veterans and Batangas Medical Society.
