Batangas City Local Civil Registry Office (BCLRO) was adjudged third in the 2008 Best CRO (Extra Large Category) in the Philippines held at SMX Convention, SM Mall of Asia,Aug. 4-6 2009.
The Award was given to Batangas City LCRO by National Statistics Office through its Administrator and Civil Registrar General, Carmencita Ericta.
The award recognizes the quality of service and speedy response of all LCR offices in the country. Las Pinas City and Malaybalay, Bukidnon received the first and second places respectively.
Meanwhile,Batangas City LCRO projects include, “Oplan Kamalayan” which aims to provide incoming grade 1 pupils with free birth certificates, “Mass Wedding” which helps underpriveledged couples with free seminar on family planning, marriage counseling, marriage application, marriage license, marriage solemnization , birth certificate, birth registration and legitimation of couples’ children. The office also conducts mobile registration from time to time.
