DynEd softwareTo enhance the English communication skills of public elementary and high school teachers, Malampaya Foundation, Inc. (MFI) launched the project Advanced Course on Competitive English for Teachers (ACCENT). This project provides free training for teachers to improve their skills in teaching and speaking English.

Malampaya Foundation noted the importance of English proficiency of teachers as a vital factor in global competitiveness of our teachers. The method of teaching English is a combination of the traditional approach and the computer-assisted language learning (CALL) through the use of DynEd software which utilizes listening-based interactions and multi-modal learning activities for all age and levels. A total of 80 hours will be allotted for the said training.

The trainees will be chosen from barangay beneficiaries of TALIM – Tabangao, Ambulong, San Isidro, Libjo, Malitam, and Barangays Cuta, Calicanto, Wawa, Bolbok, and Sta. Rita Karsada.

In line with this, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Malampaya Foundation, Inc. (MFI), Lyceum of the Philippines University, and Department of Education Batangas City on October 9 as a sign of partnership in implementing the ACCENT.

DepEd will help choose the teachers who shall undergo the training and will take charge of the monitoring and assessment of the chosen trainees. According to Luke Esteban, this is the first time that MFI launched a project for education. MFI shall provide the fund and will be the one to monitor and evaluate the trainees of the ACCENT project.

Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas will provide the trainers to facilitate the hands-on activities, computers, classrooms, software to be used in the computer-assisted training, will give updates on the progress of the trainees, and will organize the graduation of the trainees after the ACCENT training.
