  3. My happy moments at SM Food Court began more than 10 years ago at SM Glorietta and SM Cubao. I was brought to Sizzling Plate by my lolo-uncle one Christmas vacation day and immediately liked the food! Syempre ang Sizzling Plate, dahil Happy Moments = Good Food + Great Memories!

My happy moments at SM Food Court is dining together with my whole family. When you say “SM food court” it means affordability of food because of cheap prizes, it goes well with good taste and freshness of food. We can have different choices that fits our craving, we can go at anytime breakfast, lunch and dinner and even the kulitan time meryenda. It’s not actually having an occassion to have this happy moment, but every time we go to SM I am sure to have good time with my family as we go dine-in at sm food court. It’s surely a fun and memory-acquiring experience.

It was another ordinary day..Nothing special.I opened my eyes and hail the morning sunshine. No plans or any ideas for the day. I went on my daily routine- Brushing my teeth, washing my face and a little bit of talking to myself in front of the mirror. My phone beeped and read “hi! can you be my friend?”- a text message from an unfamiliar number. I wondered and think of the possibilities of who this person was. I rushed to my phonebook and scanned for the unfamiliar number. There was no hope, it was really the first time that number entered into my phone’s system Out of curiosity i replied and asked some what abouts of the person who’s sent the mysterious message. I started asking from the name, the location, the age until i found myself enganging in a little deep conversation which took us a couple of hours (fortunately i was registered in an unlimited texting service). The last message i remembered was “let’s meet at SM at 3pm” and i replied “sure”
Hours passed by and the chill started to embrace me since that was my first time to meet up with a stranger. I rushed by the cab and landed at sm exactly 3pm. A new message appeared on my phone and said “i’m here at the foodcourt”. Since i was an “sm tambayer”, i quickly rushed to the place without looking deeply around because my feet and mind already knew where they were heading to. In a couple of minutes i found myself at the middle of series of tables and benches and people talking and having meals for themselves. I texted the stranger “ what are you wearing” and a reply bounced back “green shirt and maong pants”. My eyes searched for a green tee and blue jeans but nothing was so green there; orange, red, blue were the dominating colors striking my eyes. My phone beeped again which read “how about you what are you wearing?” i glanced at my brown shirt and white short and replied “brown and white”, still rounding my eyes for a green. Minutes passed and i started getting pissed. I decided to feed myself first from one of my favourite stall-Kusina ni gracia while waiting for the green to appear into my eyes. While i was picking for a meal, someone accidentally bumped me. As i turned my head and to my surprise, a green based striped shirt blazed my eyes. Blood rushed through my veins to my brain and pushed my mouth to ask “hi we’re you looking for your textmate?”. I was waiting for a smile and approval but he suddenly frowned and said in a melancholic voice “what are you talking about man?”. I just bit my lips and uttered “sorry” in a very low voice feeling ashamed , also feeling my face was turning red. As i carried my tray to the table, someone gripped it and told me “ako na lang magdadala”. I raised my head up and looked at him. A wide smile welcomed me which brought delight to my disappearing confidence. I smiled back without throwing any words andslipped my eyes down from his head to his tee hoping for a color which i was longing for. A bloody red struck my eyes hammering the little hope within me. As drooped my head again, he suddenly broke the silence and said “agatha’ right?” offering his other hand to reach my left hand. “Emer?”, a name i remembered from the Q&A portion of the texting earlier. He nodded and laughed “Sorry, i was just afraid that you were going to run away from me so i decided to tell you the other color so you have no choice when i do the first move”. I frowned at first but smiled afterwards. His face also brighten more and words started to proliferate as we went to our sits and consume the food i ordered. Laughter and chattering filled the air afterwards.
It was the first time i met up with a total stranger in a favourite hangout of mine-sm foodcourt. It was so awkward at first-talking to a person you don’t have any clues of. But it was also a matter of getting out of your shell giving chances of widening horizons. Since then, laughter and conversations were followed by deeper talks and happy moments. That place was not an ordinary place now, it was no the emblem of reaching out, spreading your wings and lending hands to other. It is more than just a place for eating and filling your stomachs but more importantly it’s a place of a greater opportunity to grow and be with others.

  15. Shop. Play. Eat. SM City Batangas is best describe by these three words. Shopping is truly amazing. It’s a guaranteed one stop shop at SM. It is also a place where you can leave your kids safe on the sidelines while doing your shopping spree. After shopping or just roaming around the mall, you may want to eat at the different stalls at the food court. My fave is Sizzling, especially its T-bone and Pork Steak. It’s truly a wonderful experience, all the time at SM City Batangas. They truly got it all for everyone.
