Eco or economic bags are your BFFs nowadays when you’re going to the market or to the shopping malls. Kapag wala kang eco bag, magtiis kang bitbitin ang mga supot.

Noong mga unang araw parang ang hirap. Imagine kung paano ka bibili ng mga pagkain sa supermarket o magte-take out sa paborito mong food chain? Pero nung nagtagal, nakasanayan na rin.

Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang eco bags na ang meron sa bahay. Ang dami na ring nawala — napunta sa kamag-anak na nagbalot ng leche flan at afritada nung nagdaang fiesta, dinala sa office namin sa paghahatid ng lunch. Pero may narealize ako sa kaganapang ito — lalong dumami ang mga ginagabok sa kwarto ko. Haha.

Dati kasi, tapon lang ng tapon kapag may naiuwing plastic after mamili. Saka lang namin tinatago kapag maganda, matibay, at malaki yung plastic. O kaya may tatak ng mga fashion brands.

Will all of us realize the essence of not using plastic items given that a city ordinance like that has been implemented? Or should we go on the extra mile for the benefits to materialize big time?

Sabi nga, “great things start from small beginnings”. Kaya sa simpleng pagparticipate natin sa plastic ban, tayo rin ang makikinabang. Kung against ka rin sa paggamit ng mga supot kasi kawawa ang mga napuputol na punong ginagawang papel, gumamit ka ng eco bag. Ganun ka-simple.

Sabi nga ni Alva kanina, dapat pala sa tuwing pupunta ka ng Lipa (o Batangas City), dapat lagi kang may eco bag. Isiksik mo lang sa bag mo. Ito ang sasalba sa buhay ng mga impulsive buyers. Katulad ko. Katulad mo? Yung mga wala naman sa plano pero napapabili ng kung ano-ano pag nasa mall.

Kung sa wet market ka naman pupunta, go old school! Bring a bayong. I’m sure iniisip mo pano ang eksena sa isdaan.

And hey girls! Kapamilya actor JM De Guzman will be having a mall show there tomorrow so be sure to see him. Then on the 19th will be the Search for Metro Mom 2012 and on the 20th is another Star Magic talent, Lauren Young.

Be sure to make the most out of this Back to School Sale! Even if you’re not a school kid anymore, there are still great finds that suit you.

What is mobophobia?

Definition: v. To feel stressed and anxious and when your mobile phone runs out of battery power, drops its network connection, or in the worst case, gets misplaced and lost. n. A panic attack caused by an interruption in your mobile phone service. (www.verbotomy.com)

The Philippines rank 14th among the top mobile phone users in the world (last updated in October 2011) with 86,000,000 number of mobile phones and a population of 94,013,200. Meaning, 91.5% of the country’s population are mobile phone users. With our country, having tagged once as the texting capital of the world, it won’t be surprising if there are a lot of mobophobic Filipinos out there.

According to Global Mobile Statistics as of February 2012 as published in mobithinking.com — “There are 5.9 billion mobile subscribers (that’s 87 percent of the world population). Growth is led by China and India, which now account for over 30 percent of world subs.”

With these digits, how many do you think have mobophobia?

Do you know some friends who can’t survive an hour or a minute without holding or checking on their phone? Do you know anyone who’s mood drastically shifts from good to bad when his mobile phone fails to connect to a wireless connection?

Who wouldn’t get stressed if your mobile phone gets misplaced? Malay mo nanakaw na pala hindi mo pa alam. Nakakaloka naman yun.

We’d like to ask business people and teens who are so glued to their mobile devices like their whole life depends on their cellphones or smartphones.

What if you get stuck in an island for days where there’s no network connection? Or it just died its natural death because it has been ages since you bought it and it just gave up on you? Matataranta ka kaya ng sobra o matitiis mong wala ang super love mong cellphone?

So, are you mobophobic?

So if you haven’t decided yet what to do for your mother on May 13th, here are some ideas which can make her day extra special:

Cook for her – Think of recipes she like or have your own version of her favorite dish. Gather your siblings and plan for those dishes that you want to prepare.

Bring her to a restaurant – Now if you can’t cook for her, at least bring her to a restaurant where she hasn’t been to before.

Treat her to a salon or spa – Bring her to a salon, have her hair trimmed, her nails polished, or whatever she wants. A full body massage would also be appreciated for sure.

Bring her to a resort – Let her feel that extra special treatment by gathering your whole family and organizing a family outing to celebrate Mother’s Day. We’ve heard quite a number of tips on how to prevent all these. It’s SM City Batangas 3-Day Sale starting today, March 4 to 6, 2012. This is a mallwide sale so expect a lot of mallgoers the rushing to every corner of SM City Batangas.

But for first time store raiders on a 3-Day Sale at SM City Batangas, give a little more patience as you have to endure traffic build-up hundred meters away from the shopping mall. Always come earlier, better if you shop right after the mall opens.

I was with Jackie earlier and we got to shop a little. Haha. Little lang talaga. For P628, I was able to buy myself a graphic tank top and a pair of jeans!

The most congested parts of the mall on a 3-day sale are: Department Store (super jampacked and there are long lines people towards the counters), Appliance Center, and the Supermarket.
