In this fast paced world, we can’t help but become victims of obesity which can be blame on the mushrooming of fast food chains and instant everything that they offer. We say Oh my Gulay! with the veggies and fruits which seldom land on our tables. And take our supposedly healthy diet for granted because of too much work in school and in work that this dynamic world demands.
And now, WowB came accross this amazing cookie that could help healthy-looking (but certainly not healthy) folks out there – DR. SIEGAL’S COOKIE DIET.
In 1975, while researching a book on the effect of natural food substances on hunger, South Florida weight loss physican and author Sanford Siegal developed a proprietary mixture of certain amino acids and baked them into a cookie intended to control his patients’ hunger. He instructed his patients to consume six cookies (approximately 500 calories) during the day to control hunger, and a reasonable dinner (300 calories) in the evening. His “cookie diet” was an immediate success, and within a few years his practice had grown to 14 clinics in Florida and 10 in Latin America. By the mid-1980′s, more that 200 other physicians were using Dr. Siegal’s approach and products in their own practices. Soon, Dr. Siegal introduced shake mixes and soup with the same hunger-controlling properties. (Wikipeadia)
According to reports from E!News, Dr. Siegal claims you can eat six cookies a day plus a sensible dinner of 300 to 800 calories and you will lose weight! The ‘magic’ cookies can be used as a healthy snack or as an appetite suppressant. Each daily bag contains six cookies at 90 calories each.
Amazing cookie right? Thanks to Dr. Siegal.
