San Jose Sico Inmates’ products now on market

San Jose Sico inmates’ beadwork products are now to be sold at Pasalubong Batangueno Center, Mabini Plaza. This is after the ABC president, Vilma Abaya Dimacuha discovered the beautiful beadwork products designed and created by San Jose Sico detainees.

“Pwedeng ipagbili ang mga produktong ito upang magkaroon sila ng hanap buhay at kahit papaano’y makatulong sa pangangailangang pinansyal ng kanilang mga pamilya habang sila ay nasa loob ng bilanguan,” (These products can be sold to help prisoners earn a living and somehow help provide finances for their family while they are still imprisoned.) Mrs. Dimacuha said.

Meanwhile, employees of Home Extension Division Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) are offering practical training on Beadworks and Accessories Making for San Jose Sico inmates. This endeavor is aimed at providing inmates with a source of income. Also, by offering vocational programs within prisons, inmates are being prepared for the outside world.

Personally, I feel so happy to know that inmates are given opportunity to improve their lives and help their families even they are behind bars. I really can ‘t wait to see and take photos of those beadwork products and accesories. I am really excited to share their work with the rest of the world. Kudos to the people of OCVAS and to San Jose Sico inmates!
