Have a Safe Summer Trip! BLOWBAG and other Vacation Reminders for Commuters and Drivers

For those who will be traveling out of town on a motor vehicle this summer, the PNP advises drivers to make sure that the vehicle to be used is in good running condition. Before leaving, check the vehicle’s ‘Blowbag’ — B-batteries, L-lights, O-oil, W-water, B-brakes, A-air, and G-gas. Also, always have important documents ready. This does not only apply to those private cars but also to PUVs or public utility vehicles. It is good to see those Batangas buses with these BLOWBAG stickers but it is of course better to know if these drivers are following and doing the said reminder religiously.

For drivers, it is also recommended to keep both hands on the steering wheel to make sure the that he/she has control of the vehicle at all times. For private vehicles with kids, make sure that all doors are locked.

We might also want to travel and refresh in places like Subic, Baguio, Bicol or those long drive vacation spots, and so, having an alternate driver for long trips is advised. Driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while texting, or driving while sleepy or dizzy is definitely not recommended. This is of course to avoid accidents and road other troubles.

Meanwhile, for those commuters, wearing of expensive jewelry or bringing along large sums of money must be avoided. The PNP also advises commuters to secure their cellphones and other belongings. It is recommended to come to the terminals or ports early and always be alert in watching out for petty criminals.

Have a Safe and Happy Summer Everyone!
