ABS-CBN launched Boto Mo I-Patrol Mo: Ako ang simula yesterday, May 11, 2009. It aims to get people care and take action specifically on the upcoming 2010 election. BMPM is like people power with new technology -cellphones!
BMPM is a year long campaign of the ABSCBN to responsibly respond to the needs of the country for honest election procedures and truthful public officials who’ll soon lead the country as they take their corresponding political posts.
ABS-CBN News teams yesterday launched BMPM: Ako ang simula in Pampanga, Cebu, and Davao where they reported on voter registration and BMPM volunteers. For the entire day, ABS-CBN’s Pinky Webb reported from Pampanga; Julius Babao from Cebu; and Ces Oreña Drilon from Davao, on BMPM updates respectively.
Voter registration and BMPM booths were set up in San Fernando Plaza in San Fernando, Pampanga; Plaza Independencia in Cebu City; and People’s Park in Davao City.
A leadership forum at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City was also held in the night of the same day. Reported presidentiables for 2010 election, Senators Panfilo Lacson, Francis Escudero, Mar Roxas, Richard Gordon; Pampanga Gov. Ed Panlilio; and Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro were seen and heard in the forum.
This is call for every Filipinos including the Batanguenos. Let us be the change we want to be. Let us start with ourselves and support BMPM to secure a better Philippines for the all Filipinos. “If you see something wrong or something good, tell us about it. If you see someone trying to buy the votes, snap a picture on your cellphone and send it to us. If you see a town mayor using public vehicles for his campaign, shoot video with your cellphone and send it to us. If you see violence, tell us about it, and after a verification process, we will put it to air. Two months into the 4-month campaign, we received reports from the provinces that Boto Mo, I-Patrol Mo helped level the playing field where incumbents were running after we ran a story with the cellphone picture of city resources used for campaigns. We must not afraid if we notice an alarming situation in our community, that a certain politician candidate involve on it.. Take an action for it. Wag matakot, isulong ang payapang eleksyon. Piliin ng tama ang iboboto sa posisyon kanyang manindigan, kayang ibuhos ang sarili sa pagbabago ng ating bansa.Tapat at hindi kurokot.. Who is fair and unbiased.
