October 28 is a Special Non-Working Holiday for Barangay and SK Elections

On October 28, 2013, exercise your right to suffrage. Malacañang declared the date a special non-working holiday for the 2013 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections. This is under Proclamation No. 656 which was signed by President Benigno Aquino in September 25.

October 28 falls on a Monday so that’s a long weekend for us. Since it’s a special non-working holiday, you can’t excuse yourself from voting (unless you really can’t) so go spend your one precious vote wisely.
