Have you watched ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent? In the February 27 episode of the talent search program, a 16-year old high school student from Marilag, Batangas wowed the crowd with his powerful voice. Jovit Baldivino moved judges Kris Aquino and Ai Ai Delas Alas to tears as he perform his audition piece – his rendition of The Journey’s Faithfully.
Jovit received three yeses from the judges (Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Freddie Garcia) with his amazing talent. I saw the said episode and I was just so amazed. My dad can’t get over with Jovit’s voice as he kept saying “ang galing talaga!” even after the show.
It was not only his voice that touched the hearts of the people in the venue (the audition was held in University of Batangas) but his life story as well. His father just recovered from tuberculosis and his mother doesn’t have a job. So to help his family, he sells siomai every afternoon after class. Kris asked Jovit if he really wants to become a singer and the humble boy answered yes, if given the chance, but what he really wants to achieve is to finish his studies.
Jovit added that it would be just fine if he wouldn’t succeed in Pilipinas Got Talent, what matters to him is that he was able to show the people the talent of a genuine Filipino. With that, we salute Jovit Baldivino for making Batanguenos proud.
