Anihan Festival and Other Vacation Spots in Lobo, Batangas

lobo batangasEvery last week of September, the bucolic and laid-back municipality of Lobo, celebrate it’s annual Anihan festival. This was incepted in 1999 by then Mayor Dr. Renato Perez. The festival aims to showcase the bountiful harvest of this another agricultural town of Batangas. At the same time, this is Lobo local folks’ way of thanking the Almighty God.

One of the highlights of  Anihan festival is a street parade and dance competition. More often than not, participants during the celebration clad in costumes inspired by their local produce such as sugar apple (atis), tamarind, rice, buli fabrics, seashells, corn kernels and dried tree bark, among others.

It is really wonderful to visit the town of Lobo, aside from this colorful and joyful festival are other enchanting vacation or tourist spots. Among these are the Malabrigo lighthouse,  and lobo’s inviting beaches.
