Nestle, one of the biggest food manufacturer in the world, will open a P4.3 billion factory in Batangas, making it the fifth of its facility here in the country. The site will rise in Tanauan City.
The factory is intended to produce 64,000 tons of Bearbrand milk and Coffeemate creamer a year for domestic comsumption. This investment is in contrary to reports that the Nestle factories here in the Philippines will relocate to Indonesia. Nestle Philippines Chairman and CEO John Miller said they are here to stay.
Construction of the factory will start this month and is expected to begin operation on 2012. With the local production of Coffeemate, there will no longer be a need to import the product from its sister company in Thailand.
With Nestle Philippines Inc.’s big time investment here in Batangas, the locals would be ensure of possible job opportunities once the factory began to operate.
