When it was established in 1970, the hospital was known as San Antonio Maternity and Medical Hospital, because of its basic health care provided by the first US-trained Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Frances N. Reyes and Internist-Cardiologist, Cesar A. Fariñas Ilocos Empanada, located at Dayton Food Park, Ayala Highway, Lipa City, is one of a handful of genuine Ilokano Restaurants in the province of Batangas. They serve authentic Ilocos Empanada and the all-time Filipino favorite Bagnet in a variety of savory and delicious dishes.

History

The Manila branches of Farinas Ilocos Empanada are doing really well, as observed by the Tiu Family of San Jose, Batangas who are the main supplier of eggs in all the branches. When the opportunity came, the Tiu Family grabbed it and decided to introduce the brand here in Lipa City. It was an immediate hit, as most Batanguenos have been to Vigan and Ilocos Province, and already knew of the tasty Ilocos Empanada.

The Restaurant

The restaurant which can be seen along Ayala Highway is a combination of modern materials and the traditional flair of Vigan houses. There are a few tables on the first floor and a very spacious second floor for a lot of families and friends to fit into. The kitchen is very clean and the cooks all have the proper tools in preparing the food.

The Menu

Immediately we dove into a handful of Ilocos Empanada and were inundated with the musky taste of the longganisa and the rich texture of the papaya and egg fillings. The crunchy exterior gave a fulfilling-sound to every bite, and if you close your eyes it is as if you are transported in the streets of Vigan.

Aside from the empanada, you might want to try the bagnet dishes as well, like the sisig and the pakbet. Another hit is the savory Poque Poque, a dish made of eggs, tomatoes, onions and eggplant.

Located in Ayala Highway, the food avenue of Lipa City, Ka Jec’s Bangihan is a grill restaurant with a lot of parking space, cool ambiance, great hangout seats, and an awesome Filipino street food menu.

Their bestseller is the Isaw (or grilled Chicken Intestines). Instead of eating it in noisy, polluted and smelly streetside (with probably unhealthy sauces), you get to enjoy your isaw with your friends seated on picnic chairs and tables with proper edison-bulb lighting listening to a live acoustic band on some days.

Another can’t-miss on the menu is the turon, a flavorful blend of bananas, sesame seeds, butter, and sugar, that will make you forget you had just street food, and will probably make you order some more for take-out.

According to Ms. Shielan, introducing and promoting a new brand to the market have been a struggle when they are starting, as she and her repeating customers were used to the former brand she used to sell, the called transition and the switching. But then she was able to anticipate those implications because of the client’s acceptance of her new brand and products.

Ms. Shielan is very particular in hiring staff, that personality matters. Before she releases their products, she makes sure that it is tested and effective that she try it to herself first.

She emphasizes that it is self-fulfilling if you are able to do what you want and where you are passionate about and getting an income at the same time.

History

Royal British College, Inc. Established in 2007, through the brainy and dynamic leadership of Dr. Lorenzo Ku, Royal British College Inc. has survived the world economic crisis and has now opened its door to new ventures. Royal British College Inc. became a vocational school that offered short courses like caregiving, household services, call center training, food & beverages services, baking & pastry, as well as language courses like English, Nihonggo, Spanish and Mandarin.

As the years went through, the Royal British College Inc. expanded and adapted to the needs of the 21st Century Learning. It started to offer CHED programs: Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher education and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management. About the Owner:

Serenewoods Farm and Resort is owned and managed by Mr. Lino Buenafe, a business-minded father of two who lives in Balete, Batangas City. Mr. Lino is a car enthusiast that’s why his first venture is a Car Accessory Business and through those businesses, he is able to provide the needs for his family and acquire a property in Brgy Bubuyan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas.

He later decided to convert this property into a resort and a vacation place for his family use but later on, friends started asking if they can rent it to have their vacation or events held in the resort. Upon establishing the business, problems occur because it is inevitable, Mr. Lino has been stressed when it comes to the allocation of budget, to the development of the resort and its design, and he noted that it is way harder to develop a property on a slope land but he keeps on bringing bright ideas to maximize the slope area and added more features to the resorts. He realized that education and patience are what an individual needs to be successful in life.

The Resort and its Amenities

Serenewoods Farm and Resort was four years old already but was only officially opened for travelers’ and tourists’ use last February. The resort is the best choice for families’ and barkadas’ getaways that seek for massive-accommodating rooms.

Mr. Lino is very hands-on in designing the resort and very proud of using modern designs from roofs, furniture, etc. that’s why every corner of it you’ll surely find a great angle for your Instagram photos.

Serenewoods Farm and Resort has a variety of cottages and rooms; it has (3) three pools where you can plunge your stress away. (a 4-5ft. private pool, a 4-5ft. semi-private pool, a 3 ft. kiddie pool and a gazebo.)

The resort is designed to cater to families and barkadas that is why they’re also offering fully air-conditioned rooms with television for those who want to stay and enjoy the view at night.
